Installation
The installation procedure is very much similar to most other Prestashop modules. No core changes required therefore installation is straight forward, be sure to follow the instructions below to ensure a successful installation.
- Upload the module folder to your stores
{root}/modulesfolder - Once uploaded, login to your Prestashop Back Office and head over to the Modules section
- Search for the module and click Install
- After a successful installation, the module configuration screen is presented to you. More details on this in the next section.
Configuration
Lets begin by taking a look at the global module configuration before we look at configuring individual products. Open the global module configuration from the module panel below:
After opening the module configuration you should see the tabs Banners, Product Settings and Cron setup
Banners
The Banners tab allows you to create timer banners to be displayed in your site header, either for your homepage or for specific categories in your store.
Create a new banner by clicking the New Banner Button in the top right of the screen. This will present the following form options:
[Title]
Enter the title of the banner, this will appear just above the timer.
[Start Date & Time]
Enter from which date and time the timer should be displayed
[End Date & Time]
Specify the date and time when the timer banner should stop being displayed. This date will also determine the countdown shown in the timer, letting customers know exactly how much time is left to take advantage of the offer.
[Banner Type]
Select Homepage to display the banner in the header of your store homepage.

[Theme]
Choose a predefined theme for the banner. After saving the form, additional options will appear related to the selected theme allowing you to further customize the appearance.
[Enable Email Reminder]
Enable this option to display the “notify me “ widget next to the countdown timer. This allows customers to provide you with their email address and the module can send them a reminder about the offer close to the end date.
After setting up the banner, you should see it the banner of your homepage or category page similar to the following:
Remember after saving your banner, additional theme options will appear allowing you to customize the colours if you need to match your theme more closely. If you create a category based banner then a category tree control will also appear allowing you to to choose which categories the banner should be displayed for.
Product Countdown Timers
The module can also display timers directly on the product pages, close to the Add to Basket call to action as shown below:

Select theme and configure if required.
Once the settings have been saved, create any discount in Prestashop which will be applied to a product. For example a catalog price rule or a specific price discount.
SPECIFIC PRICE DISCOUNTS
When editing a product, under the prices tab you can create specific price discounts. Be sure to select a start and end date for the discount.
CATALOG PRICE RULES
Any catalog price rules you create will also trigger the display of a timer for all products affected by the rule. Once again, be sure to specify a start date and end date for the catalog price rule.
Once done the countdown timer will automatically appear on the appropriate product pages.
The Remind Me Feature
The remind me button on each count down timer widget displays a popup form when clicked. The form allows your customer to be reminded about the discount by email x number of days before the discount ends. The customer is prompted to provide their email address and the number of days before the discount expiry date they wish to be reminded.
Setting up Cron
Before your store can send emails to your customers who have signed up for reminders, you must setup a daily cron job which calls the module cron url. There are several ways to do this:
Set up a cron tab directly on your server
For advanced users; this is the most reliable method. Some hosts allow you to set up Cron tabs directly from your hosting cPanel other may have different approaches. Please contact your host if you are unsure.
Use an external cron service
An external cron service will call the cron url above everyday at the time you specify, without you having to make any hosting or server changes. There are many you can find on Google, one example is http://www.mywebcron.com/
